Rocking the Daisies Heads to the Bush

Rocking the Daisies’ Premier Teaser Event, Sowing the Seeds, Heads to the bush!I know I usually write about goings on in Cape Town but this was too exciting for me not to share. Rocking the Daisies is branching out – excuse the odd pun – and heading to Jozi! The team behind the awesome music festival is making its way to Magaliesburg in the form of a 2-day music festival on 24th and 25th of February 2012.

Now Jo’burgers will have the opportunity to enjoy a full weekend music extravaganza like no other festival in South Africa. I’m all about sharing the love when it comes to local music so I’m pretty excited about this. Music lovers can now enjoy a bush festival surrounded by the breathtaking Highveld landscape, at Warthogs Game Farm. The event will offer the same laid back festival vibe and family friendly atmosphere that is synonymous with Rocking the Daisies.

So what can you expect from the fest? Firstly an amazing venue with lush grassy areas in the heart of the Magaliesburg, with accommodation options that vary from camping to 4-star luxury lodges. This event will also host a rocking line up including South Africa’s top bands and DJ’s, cool brand experiences and a whole bunch of entertaining activities.

Tickets for the fest will set you back R200. This includes a full weekend festival ticket as well as optional camping for Friday and Saturday night. Tickets are available through www.webtickets.co.za and are limited to 3000 people.

Gearing Up to Rock the Daisies Once Again

It’s almost that time of year again, where music lovers descend upon Cloof Wine Estate in Darling for a weekend of rocking hard and treading lightly. That’s right it’s almost time for Rocking the Daisies 2011 – affectionately known as ‘RTD’ or ‘Daisies.’ The festival will take place from 7-9 October 2011.

This year some of the sponsors include: Wrigley’s 5 Gum, Carling Black Label (which will be bringing you the Champions Zone. A boys-only answer to the Daisy Den. ), SAB will also be extending its ‘No Regret Friday’ campaign to the Festival and will be sponsoring the hydration stations and helping party-goers get safely to and from the Festival via buses.

Brutal Fruit will be bringing the ever popular Daisy Den back to the fest this year. The cozy den will make sure all the lovely ladies of Rocking the Daisies are pampered with hot showers, self service hair stations, OPI nail bar, a relax zone, glam dressing rooms and counters with plenty of mirrors and basins.

Rocking the Daisies has also announced a few of the exciting acts that will fill the always awesome line-up. Some of the acts you’ll see at the fest this year include: The Arrows, Foto Na Dans, Jack Parow, Tumi and the Volume, and the Graeme Watkins Project.
