Valentine’s Day Open-Air Movie Theatre

Just when you’re getting over the Christmas hangover Valentine’s Day rear its pretty head. If you haven’t found something to do with your special someone yet I’ve got an awesome idea that’ll score you major points. I’m a sucker for cool movie night experiences and picnics so I love this idea!

Enjoy an open-air screening of the beautiful love story – The Notebook – at Rhebokskloof Wine Estates’ scenic Theatre on the Lake. The screening will take place on Valentine’s Day, 14 February 2012.

The Notebook (PG 13 S), is a classic story of thwarted love, a rich-and-poor social divide and unrequited emotions withstanding the passage of time. It stars Ryan Gosling, Rachel McAdams, Gena Rowlands and James Garner.

If you want to spoil your loved one just that bit more make sure you pre-order a special movie night picnic or indulge in the burgers, popcorn and cold drinks on sale on the evening.  Rhebokskloof wines are available to purchase at all the estate events.

Don’t forget to bring along your picnic blanket and cushions.

To book for the Valentine’s Day open-air movie evening, email info@rhebokskloof.co.za or call 021 869 8386.

Tickets are available at R69.00 per person and gates open at 18h00 with the show starting at 19h30.

Goldfish is Back!

After months of being abroad and touring the rest of SA one of my favourite South African bands, Goldfish, is finally coming back home to Cape Town. The band is once again gearing up to give Capetonians their weekly fix of electronica.

The super popular Submerged Sundays will once again take place at St. Yves in Camps Bay starting on Sunday 27 November until Sunday 26 February.

If you have been hiding under a rock and don’t know what I’m on about Goldfish are an electronica and dance group hailing from Cape Town, South Africa. The band is made up of of Dominic Peters and David Poole. Their unique style of dance music mixes elements of jazz and African music, combining live instruments like double bass, saxophones, keyboards, flute, and vocals with samplers, effects and synths.

Goldfish have opened for many international electronica acts, including Basement Jaxx, Faithless, Fatboy Slim, Mr Scruff, Audio Bullys, Paul van Dyk, Pete Tong and Stereo MCs.

They’re a fantastic live act so make sure you make your way to Camps Bay this summer and see the Fishies (as they are affectionately known by fans) in action.
