Red Carpet Fashion Show Heats Up Camps Bay

On Friday 10 February 2012 Capetonians were treated to a star studded fashion extravaganza at the Red Carpet Fashion Show.

Elana Afrika and Katlego Maboe took to the stage to introduce South Africa’s leading fashion giants KLuK, Port, Stefania Morland, Jagadi and a fresh new designer on the scene, Joanna Hedley, with BeachCult.

The Heat glam fashion event celebrated the empowerment of women through Dermalogica’s joinFITE initiative. Red Carpet Concepts handed over a cheque of R16 000.00 to the foundation. “All the hard work pays off in the end when you’re able to look back at what you’ve achieved and feel proud. We couldn’t have chosen a better initiative to back” says Red Carpet Concepts MD and Red Carpet Fashion Show event organizer Jade Allen.

The show also included a debut of online fashion super store Zando.co.za – the official shoe supplier of the Red Carpet Fashion Show 2012.

Dainty Dresses from Mr. Price

Nothing makes you feel prettier or sexier than donning an awesome dress.  Forget pants and sneakers, I have a whole cupboard dedicated to just my dresses. As far as I’m concerned my pants can fraternise with my tops, jackets, and shoes all they want but my dresses have their own hallowed space. I came across these cute and affordable dresses while scoping out Mr. Price stores. Take a look at what I found.

I absolutely love this tunic dress at only R89.99. This would look great paired with a long black t-shirt and boots in winter and would be a perfect for covering a bikini in summer too.

You’ll look cute as a button in this 50s inspired dress at just R119.99. A beautiful choice for cocktail parties or a dinner date. pair with a black cardi and some high-heeled pumps and you’re good to go.

Bring out the animal in you with this sexy dress at R99. It’s an awesome little party dress for a night out on the town. I’m used to paying a few hundred Rand or more for dresses so it’s always great to find less wallet heavy options.

Abigail Betz’s Mesmerizing Gowns

I had the pleasure of attending Abigail Betz’s show at Cape Town Fashion Week last night. The setting and gowns were truly mesmerizing. I’m sure they had many a girl in the audience dreaming of their wedding gown one day. Here are a few pics from the show.

The eery stage setting was a surprisingly great backdrop for Abigail Betz’s delicate gowns.

I loved this two-toned number. The collection mainly consisted of beautiful gowns in whites, creams and peaches. These were juxtaposed with striking evening gowns in jet-black.

I loved the gowns in the collection and lusted after quite a few of them. Now all I need is an excuse to buy one… anyone have a glamorous party they’d like to invite me to? For more pics of last night’s shows visit the AFI website.
