To Go Where No Wine has Gone Before

While this lovely wine has been around for a little while now, I’ve noticed that few people know about it. It’s the perfect wine for Spring as it’s ultra portable (thanks to it being in a plastic PET bottle).

Tread Lightly by Backsberg, the first SA winery to declare its carbon neutral status, was launched with the environment and convenience in mind. The wine was the first certified wine sold in the newly certified innovative PET bottle. The Tread Lightly Merlot 2008, Chenin Blanc 2008, and Sauvignon Blanc 2010 varietals are bottled in a lightweight, stylish, PET bottle.

The brand is not only environmentally sound, but Tread Lightly is also so convenient because it is light, shatterproof and less fragile than glass. With its shatterproof design Tread Lightly’s soft bottle delivers all the aesthetic qualities of glass making it a stylish choice for outdoor entertaining at festivals, picnics, boating, beach parties and braais where traditional glass bottles are unsafe or not allowed

Tread Lightly by Backsberg soft bottled wine holds 750ml of wine – the same as a glass bottle – and contains 14 percent alcohol. Packing of beverages in PET reduces energy consumption by 52% vs Glass & Metal. Greenhouse gas emissions are reduced by 55%

The wine is available at Pick n Pay stores country wide and retails at R29 for the Chenin Blanc, R39 for the Sauvignon Blanc, and R49 for the Tread Lightly Merlot.

Pretty as a Daisy

It’s official flowers are trending in a BIG way this Spring/Summer. Inspired by the 1950s and every thing pretty this trend is a must-include when emerging from the dullness that was winter. I’ve just bought a gorgeous pair of floaty floral shorts from YDE and was inspired to share some ways to add a little floral infusion to your look this summer.

I love these slight cat eye floral sunglasses from Dolce&Gabbana. Pick them up for R2290 at Sunglass Hut ( a little steep but worth it if you’ve been meaning to invest in a new pair for summer). I’m also a fan of these Oversized floral sunnies also D&G. You’ll find these priced at R2290 at Sunglass Hut.

Patterns are alive from ditzy to over-sized and in every shape and form, from floaty tea dresses, right down to swimwear and accessories. These two little dresses, both from Sissy Boy are a perfect way to pretty-up your wardrobe. Both dresses are R699 at Sissy Boy stores.

If you’re not too keen to go overboard with the floral look or don’t want to dent your pocket too much why not try a subtle floral head piece like this cute headband from Foschini. It’ll set you back just R40 and it’s cute as hell.

Trenery Launches Spring Collection

Trenery at Woolworths has launched their Spring Collection and I must say it’s quite awesome. The theme for this year’s Spring collection is Modern Simplicity. From nautical finds to luxury leather you’re bound to find a must-have in the new collection. Take a look at some of my favourites from the collection.

I love this nautical look – especially the white cotton pants. This a great way to update your wardrobe for Spring… just add white.

I love this cherry-red leather bag – it’s the perfect way to add a pop of colour to your Spring outfits. Trenery has a great selection of leather bags in all colours this Spring.

Zip detail is another Spring trend that I love. This slouchy dress, with zip detail, is the ultimate comfort item for Spring. It will be dream to slip on this light-weight dress when the weather is a little too balmy for your liking.
